My little family

Hello! I’m Danielle Lange, designer & owner of Lakeside Drive Design Co.

I grew up in a little fixer upper home, built in the 1930’s, located in a very small town in Warren County, New Jersey. Our home was nestled in the heart of a beautiful mountainous landscape, located on Lakeside Drive.

Home is always where your story begins. I can remember my Mom & Dad always working so hard to improve the look of our home, inside and out, whether it was painting, cleaning & organizing, and taking on weekend projects out in the yard. They put their heart into making that the perfect place to call home, and it was.

My Dad grew up learning and working in my grandfathers’ Tool & Die shop, which led to opening his own business in manufacturing sales. I can remember the way he would pick up objects and intensely examine the structure and design, and then explaining the process of how it was made to me. I admire him and the decades of hard work he has poured into building his business from the ground, up. It isn’t just his hard work & grittiness that is so admirable. It is the way he is with people. With his customers. He is always so patient, honest, and kind. A man of few words, with the greatest heart & incredible knowledge of his craft.

While my Dad is out in the shop or on the road, my Mom is the one managing all the day to day operations for their business. It is hard to put into words how much I admire her, and for so many reasons. But when it comes to being an inspiration behind my business, I’m pointing in her direction. No matter how old I get, I can always count on my Mom walking into my home and fixing a twisted curtain, an flattened pillow, organizing my kitchen cabinets, or moving something jusssttttt to the left. She’s got an incredible eye for making something look & function better.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. It all probably began when I was about eight years old while visiting my Grandmother’s home, I had taken this little brown footstool and taped a piece of masking tape to it and wrote “Danielle’s Shoe Shining Service”. At home, my sister and I would sell lemonade and ice tea at the end of our footbridge, and even though we’d be lucky if we made a few dollars all day, I loved it. Then, when handmade braided friendship bracelets became on trend, I’d convince my friend to go door to door trying to sell those. Oh, and can’t forget the Girl Scout cookie hustle! Wanting to share the things I’ve created or thought people would love, has always been a big part of what makes me, me.

After I graduated high school, I moved to South Jersey, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Art & Education. I have been an Art Educator in NJ public schools for the last 11 years.

I married the love of my life, Cubby Lange in 2014 and we just welcomed our beautiful daughter Sienna into the world, in June 2018. I love being a mom more than anything and we are enjoying our new adventure of being parents.

As a multi passionate creative, I have dabbled in a few ventures along the way. From jewelry design, commissioned drawings, collecting and selling vintage home goods, painting old furniture, basic upholstery, the list goes on. I decided to create Lakeside Drive Design Co. in 2019, because I am so passionate about bringing value to others, in terms of creating a home or space that they never want to leave. A place where memories will be made, where their story begins. I’d love to connect with you, hear your story and how I can best serve YOU.

Best,
